This project was one that was dreamed up and requested by my mom while she was visiting our house. I was apprehensive at how it would turn out in the beginning. Luckily, she had a vision and I think they turned out spectacularly.
Basically, this project is all about making laser-cut felt Christmas ornaments. I’d never cut felt on the Glowforge but once I dialed in the settings for the specific sheet of felt, it was extremely easy. From there, my mom hand-stitched the pieces together however she wanted and then fabric glued things like stars and hearts on the fronts. Below is a gallery of the various steps of the process. For the designs, I used a mixture of simple vector shapes (e.g. 3 circles for a snowman) and free vector components online with slight modifications to make them fit the style better.
